It's been a while since we last updated our news as we've been quite busy here at The Duck. See the latest below:
Apparently Big Yellow Duck is in for a good year in 2009. According to Yahoo.com, people will try to escape the doom and gloom of the times by turning to the color yellow to brighten up their days. Pantone, a world renowned leader in color and color systems, said cheery and sunny yellow will be the color of the new year. We at The Duck predicted this trend a year and half ago when we first came up with our name. So, here's to 2009 and the color yellow. Let Big Yellow Duck mix your doom and gloom away!

The feature film
Mystery Team, which we worked so hard on, was just selected to premiere at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival as part of its Park City at Midnight line-up. Directed by Dan Eckman of Derrick Comedy and starring Donald Glover, award-winning writer of
30 Rock, this comedy is expected to get big buzz at the festival.
Sound Designer Lou Esposito and Mixer Ryan Heiferman perfected the vile sounds of vomit and urine to really help shape this film's humor. You'll have to see it for yourself to understand...

Academy Award-nominated director Brett Morgen (
Chicago Ten,
The Kid Stays in the Picture) brought his latest project,
Drive and Deliver, to BYD. Sponsored by International Trucks, it's an homage to America's long-haul truckers as it "journeys into their world and over far reaches of open road, where the realities of family, business and brotherhood converge into one inspiring story." The project served as International's promotion of its latest monster prototype, but in Morgen's hands, the film ended up as much more than a simple promo. It's a stand-alone film in its own right.
The project was meticulously sound designed and mixed here at The Duck by Lou, Keith, and Ryan, and it was a challenging task making the trucks sound so good. The accompanying soundtrack features some of the best rock and country on the planet.
